It was an absolute joy doing the music for this CD. Typically the music I compose is simply inspired by my mood and the moment -- often in the late hours of the night. What made composing this music different is that it was inspired by Wendy's sweet and flowing voice and the compassionate energy that emminates from her while teaching yoga.

I have always enjoyed taking Wendy's yoga classes as she not only teaches her class from the heart, but she also teaches a true flow class where voice, breath, body, and spirit move together. What made this experience even better was that her practice was recorded in an intimate setting which allowed the sweet nature of Wendy's voice to shine through. With my studio headphones on, I was able to emerse myself into the sounds of her voice and allow her words and instruction to flow through my hands and into the music.

Although I have spent some time working with the unique sound of a Bosendorfer and Italian Grand, I have become particularly connected with the traditional Steinway Grand -- it is both sweet and delicate but with a unique richness and depth in the lower keys. It was perfect for composing the music for this CD.

The soundtrack for this CD is all original composition work by me and performed by me. The recording, mixing, and mastering took about six weeks. People may ask how it is possible to play the accompanying lyrical lines that are threaded throughout the score? This is where the wonder of technology and art meet as it is possible through something called VI or virtual instruments which are commanded through a keyboard-controller. There is nothing more amazing than being able to project through my hands the expressiveness of a Gregorian chant, Tibetan singing bowls, or cello, and to fold this into my piano compositions. The experience might be best described as an artist having a 3-dimensional canvas and every form of medium available to paint a picture. I love this aspect of what technology has brought to art.

I hope that you enjoy the soundtrack. My goal was to enhance Wendy's beautiful practice -- but not to distract. We will be making the soundtrack of the CD available. This will allow anyone to listen to it for their own practice, meditation, or relaxation.
